Fresh fish package is prepared by putting fresh whole or sliced fish in a container made from resin substantially having gas barrier properties, preferably a high acrylonitrile content resin, together with a deoxidant and/or in an atmosphere of a nitrogen gas or a mixture of a nitrogen gas and carbon dioxide, and then sealing the container. In addition, a method is also provided in which processing is carried out to obtain fresh fish products suitable for the aforesaid fresh fish package which can be preserved and transported as it is fresh.
