Results showed that reduction of 20 percent N, 25 percent P and 50 percent K of the recommended ground application with foliar fertilization of algafer at 4 li/ha application for eight applications gave a savings of P1,526.58/ha/year over the standard practice of fertilization without yield reduction. However, continuous induction of ground fertilization may result to the reduction of nutrient reserve in the soil. An intervention for such situation should be developed with succeeding croppings
