Disclosed is a molluscicide formulation for controlling golden snail infestation in plants. The formulation comprises 25-60 grams of chlorothalonil mixed with 16 liters of water. Also disclosed is a method of protecting rice seedling from damage brought by golden snail attack. The method includes the steps of applying an effective dosage of molluscicide formulation containing chlorothalonil at an effective dosage ranging from about 25-60 grams of active ingredient (Chlorothalonil) per 16 liters of water
