Response of lanzones stem cuttings to the time of application and concentration of ANAA

The possibility of rooting lanzones stem cuttings as affected by the type of cuttings, time of application and concentration of alphanapthaleneacetic acid (ANAA) was studied and evaluated following the completely randomized design using a propagator box in the University of Southern Philippines, Mabini, Davao [Philippines] from Sep 1992 to Aug 1993. It was found out that terminal stem cuttings of lanzones gave higher percentage of rooting than the basal stem cuttings. Application of 100 ppm ANAA to terminal cuttings during planting increased the root length, dry matter weight per plant and high survival rate after the rooted cuttings were bagged and established in the nursery. Increasing the concentration of ANAA from 100 to 200 ppm did not give beneficial effects to the rooting of stem cuttings
