Incubation interval of four bivoltine parent races for synchronized moth emergence

The study aimed to establish incubation and rearing schedule for the four existing parent lines, J102, C102, N144 and C144 and to determine the actual developmental duration of each line from one rearing season to another. It tested three incubation delay schedules 4.5 and 6 days delay of Chinese parent lines to determine which schedule yields the most synchronized moth emergence. The study was repeated in three rearing seasons of the year and for three years. The study found out that both Chinese parents, C102 and C144 can be safely incubated to hatch five days after the incubation of their respective partners J102 and N144 in all rearing seasons of the year under La Trinidad, Benguet [Philippines] conditions. It also determined that the rearing duration of each parent significantly varies from one season to another. Nevertheless, such observed variation do not significantly affects the moth emergence synchronization schedule because the changes in the duration that take place are similar to both parents
