New species and new records of Philippine oribatid mites (Acari: Oribatid) mainly from the Visayas

Twenty-seven species of oribatids in 16 genera and 12 families are reported for the first time from the Philippines, of which five described as new to science. These species came mainly from the Visayas islands of Samar, Leyte, Negros and Panay, but several also came from Luzon, Palawan and Mindanao. The new species are Suctotegeus philipinensis (Microtegeidae), Dolicheremaeus almerodai, O. mariehammerae, Otacepheus negrosensis (otocepheidae) and Arthrovertex leucaena (Scutoverticidae).
