1989

Seedlings of sugar beet were nursed in paper pots containing soil mixed with rare earth elements of different content. The Results showed that the treatment with rare earth elements significantly increased chlorophyll content, photosynthetic activity and activity of nitrate reductase; cell membrane permeability of blade was decreased with increasing concentration of rare earth elements under lower temperature, which is a evidence of enhanced resistance to frost. Changes of band number and colour of peroxidase isoenzyme showed that rare earth elements acted at the level of gene expression.
