1988
Jia Yun | Qi Lexian (Liaoning Provincial Inst. of Forest Management, Shenyang (China))
Needle cast of Pinus koraiensis caused by Lophodermium maximum B.Z.He. et Yang spread widely in Liaoning province and seriously damaged the production of Pinus koraiensis plantation. In order to estimate the loss of biomass and volume caused by the disease which is at different degrees of seriousness, the authors investigated 51 sample trees, 11 analysis trees and 31 standard trees on three typical plots with similar forest factors. Results showed that the loss caused by the disease was dynamic as a whole and was an accumulative variable with a coefficient which presented in form of time (year). The organ biomass equations at various degrees of disease seriousness were developed, which are available to control forest diseases.
