[Study on the promotion of climbing beans]
1991
Ukiriho, B. | Graf, W.
Production potential of climbing beans is undeniable by now, but its adoption varies from region to region and from farmer to farmer, depending on circumstances. The principal limiting factors for the adoption of climbing beans are soil fertility and availability of stakes. Results from experiments testing mixed application of manure and mineral fertilizers are promising and the use of Calliandra calothyrsus and Leucaena leucocephala in anti-erosion hedges could be interesting for stake production.
