Finding of the lesser stag beetle Dorcus parallelipipedus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Lucanidae) in Kazakhstan

The article presents data on the finding of thelesser stag beetle Dorcus parallelipipedus (Linnaeus, 1758)in the Akkum Landscape Reserve (Western Kazakhstan,Egindykol village environs). Two dead females were found20.06.2017. This is the first discovery of the species in thecountry during the last century. At the beginning of the20th century 1 specimen of the species was collected in inMukhanovo village (Ural Region of Kazakhstan), now thevillage is under the administrative jurisdiction of OrenburgRegion of Russia. The article provides general informationabout the species habitat in the regions of Russia closeto Kazakhstan and considers the biotopes that possibly canbe the species habitat in Kazakhstan.
