FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY MAMAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND THEIRIMPLEMENTATION IN THE POLISH FOOD INDUSTRY

The aim of the paper was to present the state of implementation of obligatory and non-obligatory food quality andhealth safety management systems in polish food industry. The research included all food companies operating in Polandand subject to supervision of the Veterinary Inspection and are State Sanitary Inspection. Since the Polish accession tothe European Union, the number of companies that have implemented and maintained obligatory quality managementsystems has significantly increase. The study have shown that in 2015 obligatory HACCP system was maintained by 83%companies processing non-animal origin products and by 66% of companies processing animal products. Non-obligatoryquality management systems have implemented a very small number of food companies (2-5%) mainly industry leaders.
