Se hizo una revisiÃ³n sobre el estatus del cultivo de camarÃ³n Litopenaeus vannamei en agua de baja salinidad, presentando caracterÃsticas, ventajas, desventajas y medidas de mitigaciÃ³n sobre el impacto ambiental de este sistema de cultivo. Este trabajo aborda aspectos relevantes con la finalidad de trazar un camino hacia la sustentabilidad de esta alternativa de cultivo que se expande rÃ¡pidamente en MÃ©xico.
