Poverty, which is often characterized by the inability to meet basic needs such as food, is a major problem in both developed and developing countries. The Poverty Line (GK) in Indonesia consists of two categories: the Food Poverty Line (FPL) and the Non-Food Poverty Line (NFPL). Data collected in March 2023 shows that rice, instant noodles, sugar, eggs, cigarettes, and chicken meat contribute heavily to the GK. In developing countries like Indonesia, agricultural sector reforms and effective rural markets are critical to improving food security and reducing poverty. Low-cost food markets in Banda Aceh City are essential for providing low-cost food. By considering government policies, food distribution, market infrastructure, and resilience, this study aims to evaluate the contribution of cheap food markets to people's purchasing power. This study emphasizes the importance of using a multi-factorial approach to understand the dynamics of the cheap food market and suggests that research should consider other issues that are not included in this model.
