THE RESEARCH OF WATER MAKROFITA IN CROATIA

In 5 Croatian scientific fishery journals, 26 papers considering water makrofita, were published in the period from 1945 to 2000. Among them 15 cover marine algae, 3 marine higher plants and 8 freshwater plants. The investigations of marine plants are primarily fundamental. Some of them consider the influence of water pollution. The papers about freshwater plants are more in the function of fisheries. Part of them investigates the role of makrofita in fish feeding, while others consider their role in the fishponds. Because of its actuality, Caulerpa taxifolia is specially mentioned.
