Carlos H. Marchiori
This work reports the occurrence of the Tachinobia sp. (Hymnoptera: Eulophidae) parasitizing pupae of flies (Diptera) in Itumbiara, Goias and Tupaciguara, Minas Gerais. The pupae were obtained by the flotation method. They were individually placed in gelatin capsules until the emergence of flies or their parasitoids. From February 2003 through September 2004, 50 parasitoids were collected in baits of humans feces in Itumbiara, Goiás, and four were collected in baits of cattle liver at Tupaciguara, Minas Gerais. The percentages of parasitism in Ophyra aenescens (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Muscidae) and Oxysarcodexia thornax (Walker) (Diptera: Sarcophagidae) found in human feces were 2.2% and 0.8%, respectively, and in Megaselia scalaris (Loew) (Diptera: Phoridae) from cattle liver it was 0.1%. The total percentage of parasitism was 0.3%.
