Trends of development in forage making and harvesting in the Netherlands
1986
Loo, L. van (CAD-BV, Wageningen (Netherlands). Offizialberatung fuer Technik in der Tierhaltung)
When ensiling wilted grass, shortening the wilting period is the main goal. Therefore, crushing tedders are increasingly being incorporated into the mowing process. For tedding, rotary tedders are used. Windrowers with a bigger working width are needed. For ensiling mostly short-chop wagons are used; the interest in forage harvesters is strongly increasing to reduce butyric fermentation.
