With the German Agricultural Information Network (DAINet) the Centre for Agricultural Documentation and Information (ZADI) has developed the worldwide largest search cataloque for online information source on food, agriculture and forestry. In the meantime the meta information system DAINet refers to over 8.000 information sources. With more than 200.000 requests per month the DAINet is a central navigation, reference and information platform for online information on food, agriculture and forestry. Together with the Informationssystem on Genetic Resources (GENRES, http://www.dainet.de/bmu-cbd) offers DAINet to any user an open and diverse searchfacility to information on genetic resources as well as on biological diversity

Die Schwierigkeit der gezielten Informationssuche liegt im Auffinden einer Adresse, an der ein gesuchter Inhalt vorzufindenist. Aus diesem Grunde uebernehmen Suchkataloge in Verbindung mit Suchmaschinen wichtige Zugriffs- und Ordnungsfunktionen.
