The modern manufacturer is confronted from different sides with quite a number of demands, such as in-house and customer requirements, local regulations, etc. Demands from retailer and consumer organisations are also increasing. Intense pressure has been brought to bear on the industry in regard to the prevention of food bacteria contamination (Salmonella problem). Because of this, processes for the thermal treatment of feed have become the centre of attention. While solutions for pelleted or expanded feed forms already exist, processes for thermal mash treatment were only recently introduced to the industry. The already existing new processes are quite different in design and procedure. The interested feed miller looking intosuch system should pay specific attention to the following: system completeness, high degree of self cleaning as well as good cleaning possibilities of plant and machinery, compact design, production flexibility and high degree of automation.

Wahrend fur pelletiertes oder expandiertes Futter diesbezuglich Losungen vorhanden sind, fehlte fur die Behandlung von Mehlfutter bisher ein verlasslicher, einfacher Prozess. Es werden verschiedene Methoden zur Behandlung von Mehlfutter angesprochen und die Auswahlkriterien diskutiert.
