This paper describes the silvicultural conditions and utilization possibilities, organization and strategies of the "Forst-AG" (forest corporation) located in Central Hungary in a forested steppe region, from whose 61.000 ha, the AG harvests only 3,3 m3/ha, primarily pine and poplar. Despite these unfavorable conditions, the forest enterprise is run on modern principles such as intensive personnel leadership, privatizing labor, advising private forest owners and market orientation. Natur conservation and recreation are not neglected.
