English. The authors listed 25 threatened species of freshwater fish among the 49 native species in France. The list consists of two species as extinct, two as endangered, 15 as vulnerable, four as rare and two as inderminate (UICN Red Data Book categories). All the amphihaline species (eight) are threatened. For each species, the conservation status (national, european and international level) is given with the main causes of threat and, for some species, the evolution of the geographic range.

Sur les 77 espèces de poissons vivant dans les eaux douces françaises, 24 ont été introduites plus ou moins récemment et, parmi les 49 espèces indigènes, 25 (50%) sont maintenant considérées comme menacées. L'objectif de cet article est de considérer le statut de chaque espèce menacée, non seulement au niveau national mais aussi dans chaque grand bassin hydrographique, en adoptant le système de classification international développé par l'IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources).
