In conducting a cost-benefit analysis of a program to conserve an endangered species, somevalue of conservation must be estimated Because one of the types of benefit is non-use, surveymethods are employed. This paper reports on the application of two survey approaches tovaluing endangered species in Victor... contingent valuation for Leadbeater's possum; andcontingent rating for the eastern barred bandicoot. The merits of the two approaches are evaluated and suggestions made for future work.
