Producers arelooking for ways to ease the burdenof higher feed costs anduncertainty associated with thegrain market. Some optionsinclude altering weaning dates andimplementing low cost feedingstrategies that only utilize high costfeedstuffs at critical life stages.Profitability comparisons are madeacross alternative feeding andweaning strategies using a MonteCarlo simulation replicating bothinput and output prices fordistributions based on historicaldata to assess overall profitabilityof the alternative managementstrategies analyzed.
