Many programmes have been implemented to increase sloping land productivity as well as to conserve soil from erosion hazards. Many experiences show that some of the agricultural technologies were inappropriate to the users of farmers. Many agriculture projects were left by farmers as soon as the project implementations were terminated. There is still a great yield gap between farmer's and scientist's production levels. Less attention to farmers' circumstances in packaging agricultural technology is one of the reason why farmers could not adopt the technology appropiately. The second phase of The Citanduy Project (Procit II) has given us experiences in developing agriculture, primarily on the sloping area. The main objectives of this project were : to increase farm procution, to increase farm household income, to increase rural employment, and to reduce soil erosion. Beside the achievements of the technology, there were still constraints and problems that would make technology adopted by farmers was not sustainable. The constrains can be associated with the technology itself, the farmers and their farm, research approach, and government services. This paper is primarily to elaborate the experiences of PROCIT II project and discuss on farm research approach based on the existing sources
