English. Most of the soybean seeds were supplied from the traditional local seed system JABALSIM. In general, the quality of JABALSIM's seeds are good enough, but the seed health needs to be improved. A good quality and healthy seeds necessarily for soybean production. In addition to the climatic factors, soil fertility and water availability, to produce a high quality and healthy soybean seeds, another factors related to the bioecology of seed-transmitted pathogen should be considered in determining time of planting, field location and cultural practices. These should be done in order to avoid or reduce the development of pathogens or virus vactors

Secara umum kualitas benih kedelai Jabalsim tersebut cukup baik, namun masih perlu ditingkatkan dari aspek kesehatan benihnya, karena benih bermutu dan sehat merupakan modal utama dalam usaha budidaya tanaman kedelai. Untuk memproduksi benih yang bermutu tinggi dan sehat di samping pertimbangan faktor iklim, kesuburan tanah dan ketersediaan air juga dalam hal menentukan waktu tanam, pemilihan lokasi tanam maupun tindakan kultur teknis lain perlu memperhatikan bioekologi patogen tular benih. Semua tindakan tersebut ditujukan untuk mencegah atau menekan perkembangan patogen tular benih maupun vektor virus
