[Efficiency of fertilizer applications on ratoon sugar cane viewed from energy utilization aspect]

In the program for increasing sugar production, modern agricultural system which is more effective and more efficient is required. Three methods of fertilizer applications to the field for ratoon sugarcane were studied based on the input of energy: (i) using fertilizer applicator which attachments to subsoiler, (ii) combination of hand tractor and manual, (iii) fertilizer was given manually. The time use for fertilizer applicator to spray the fertilizer for 1 ha was only 1,79 hr, for hand tractor 10 hr plus manual 127 hr and for manual system 304 hr. Fertilizer applicator consumed more energy as much 2,66 times than hand tractor, and 1,12 times than manual system. The higher cost used for fertilizer application hopely would be covered by the increase of production compared to the two other methods
