Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is a fruit crop, which is prospective to develop in Indonesia. The supply of commercial seedling, especially qualified one remains a problem, due to the inability of producing the prime varieties and remains depending on imported seed. One of the efforts to overcome the problem is propagation through tissue culture method, named micropropagation. Micropropagation can provide amounts of homogeneous seedling in a relatively short time. The additional plant growth regulator, especially cytokinin, is an important factor for micropropagation. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research to examine the influence of BAP and Kinetin for melon shoot micropropagation on Murashige & Skoog medium. The aims of this research are to know the influence of BAP and Kinetin for melon shoot growth and to know the best concentration of those growth regulators. The basic design was Completely Randomized Design (CRD), seven treatment patterns and four replications. The treatments were Control, BAP 10 M, BAP 20 M, BAP 30 M, Kinetin 10 M, Kinetin 20 M, and Kinetin 30 M. The results showed that BAP and Kinetin increased the number of secondary shoot, but they inhibited the length of primary shoot and increased the shoot fresh weight. Although statistically, they were not significantly different, but they could increase the dry weight of the shoots. BAP 10 M gave the best result on melon shoot micropropagation
