An experiment was conducted at Cikoang, South Sulawesi, to find cotton varieties that are resistant to bacterial blight disease. Twenty seven varieties were planted in a randomized block design with three replications. The plants were artificially inoculated at 60 days after planting by spraying the undersurface of leaves with suspension of bacteria obtained by soaking infected leaves in the water. Criteria used in selection were infection intensity and seed cotton yield. Result indicated that Reba B-50 and HG.9 are resistant; Reba P-279, UPA 68 and BJA 592 are moderately resistant, while Tamcot SP 37, Reba BTK 12 and Stoneville 2B are tolerant to bacterial blight disease
