1993
Setiawan, K. (Universitas Lampung, Bandar Lampung (Indonesia). Fakultas Pertanian)
The objectives of the study were to evaluate the growth and production of three varieties of sweet corn and to calculate the effect of different levels of urea with three varieties of sweet corn on growth, production, and sucrose content. The study was conducted in Gisting District, South Lampung from June to September 1992. The treatments were three varieties (Hibrida, Seleksi Darmaga 2, and Hawaiian Super Sweet) and five levels of urea dose (0, 80, 160, 240, and 320 kg urea/ha). The experiment was arranged as factorial in completely randomized block design with three replications. The mean value of treatment was analyzed by honest significant difference in 5 level. The results showed that the highest ear with 320 kg ear/ha production, ear length, and sucrose content of Hibrida were 11.97 t/ha, 20.67 cm, and 13.88 respectively. Moreover, sucrose content of hibrida sweet corn was relatively the lowest, around 10.72 without urea treatment
