Effect of intercropped plant and their fertilization on both of growth and yield of potato

English. One way to overcome supraoptimal mid-elevation temperature problem is by practising intercropping system. In the experiment conducted in Polengan, Srumbung, Magelang at about 500 m above sea level, three kinds of intercropping were applied, i.e. potato + bunching onion, potato + sweet potato, and potato + cabbage, some of which were not fertilized and the others were fertilized at one-half of the recommended dosage. The experimental design used was Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. The result showed that intercropped plant did not significantly affect the number of the potato plants alive, and the number of the main branches. One-half dosage fertilization on intercropped plants significantly increased crop competition between potato and bunching onion, which was reflected by the increase of plant height of potato. Neither intercropped plants nor one-half dosage fertilization treatments did not significantly affect the number and weight of tubers/plant, total yield per hectare of healthy tubers and the yield of each size group ( 60 g, 30-60 g, and 30 g). One-half dosage of fertilizers applied to intercropped plants did not affect the number of damage tubers. Planting potato by using intercropping-technique could increase the productivity of the land percent without affecting the total yield of potato tubers
Show more [+] Less [-]unknown. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah suhu yang tinggi dalam budidaya kentang di dataran medium adalah dengan sistem tumpangsari. Dalam percobaan yang diadakan di desa Polengan, Kecamatan Srumbung, Kabupaten Magelang pada ketinggian 500 m dpl. telah dicoba tiga sistem tumpangsari yaitu kentang, bawang daun, kentang + ubi jalar, dan kentang - kubis yang dalam masing-masing sistem tanaman tumpangsarinya sebagian tidak dipupuk dan sebagian lainnya dipupuk dengan setengah dosis. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Acak Kelompok dengan empat ulangan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa tanaman tumpangsari tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah tanaman kentang yang hidup dan jumlah cabang utama tanaman kentang. Pemupukan setengah dosis untuk tanaman tumpangsari meningkatkan persaingan antara tanaman bawang daun dan kentang yang ditandai dengan peningkatan tinggi tanaman kentang. Baik tanaman tumpangsari maupun pupuk yang diberikan kepada tanaman tumpangsari tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil umbi kentang per tanaman dan hasil umbi sehat baik total maupun untuk masing-masing ukuran ( 60 g, 30-60 g, dan 30 g). Pemupukan setengah dosis pada tanaman tumpangsari tidak menyebabkan peningkatan jumlah hasil total umbi yang busuk. Penanaman kentang dengan teknik tumpangsari juga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas lahan tanpa berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil total umbi kentang
