Library services for agricultural specialists in the Byelorussian SSR

The work and publications of the agricultural and general libraries is described. The Byelorussian activities are co-ordinated by the Association of Libraries which was created in 1980. The formed stock of agricultural literature is unevenly distributed with less than 1% of libaries having about 50% of the stock. A Cumulative Index of Agricultural Periodicals published annually lists the periodicals received by 30 agricultural and regional general libraries. The Index is distributed to all agricultural regional and district libraries. An annual list of recommended literature on agricultural problems is compiled and published as a supplement to the bulletin New Books of the BSSR
