The Leningrad Division of the Central Scientific Agricultural Library (LD CSAL) is the oldest agricultural library of Russia. Its history, from its foundation in 1838 and up to the present, is the chronicle of the development of agrarian science in the USSR. The importance of the library for the implementation of practical objectives - a task that the state is facing - is enormous. The role of the library as a depository of the world's knowledge in the field of agricultural theory and practice is of no less importance. The article presents an outline of the history of one of the oldest agricultural libraries in the USSR and a review of its current status
