Classification and ecology of closed-canopy forest in Ghana.

Seven forest types are distinguished and described from an ordination by reciprocal averaging [cf. FA 38, 2675] of the presence of 749 vascular plant species in 155 plots of 0.0625 ha distributed through the forest zone. The number of species per plot varied from 190 in high-rainfall areas to 20 in low-rainfall areas.
