Entomopathogens isolated from redlegged earth mite, lucerne flea and blue oat mite offer potential in the development of new control strategies for these pests. The potential of these pathogens may be realized via traditional approaches in which they are developed as biological insecticides. However, it is more likely that their full potential will be realized through the application of new genetic engineering technologies for the development of pest-resistant plants
