An outbreak is reported from a south-eastern Queensland guinea fowl grower farm in which 200 of 2500 birds had died within 2 weeks and 100 were clinically affected. The clinical signs in affected birds were lethargy, drooping of the wings, a tendency to huddle together, and lateral recumbency followed by death. The histopathological findings implicated E. rhusiopathiae but the source of infection was not established.
