A case is described in which a Corynebacterial infection was apparently transmitted by bladder catheterisation, and was not eliminated by amoxycillin-clavulanic acid, cotrimoxazole or enrofloxacin. Rifampin failed because of the emergence of resistant mutants. Teicoplanin succeeded. There are some parallels with human cystitis due to C. urealyticum.
