1991
Wong, P.T.W. | Tesoriero, L.A. (New South Wales Agriculture, Rydalmere (Australia). Biological and Chemical Research Inst.)
Gives results of experiments undertaken to assess the possibility of controlling take-all, common root rot and crown rot in barley by biological, chemical and genetic control measures. The use of antagonistic soil fungi, soil bacteria (particularly fluorescent pseudomonads), fungicides, seed pelleting and seed dressing with various substances, breeding for resistance or tolerance to the diseases and the identification of ecological factors which favour microbial antagonists are all under investigation as potential control measures.
