Trellis effects on yield and fruit quality of five table grape varieties in the Murray Valley [Victoria]. Short note
1991
Taylor, B.K. | Leamon, K.C. (Victorian Dept. of Agriculture, Mildura (Australia). Sunraysia Horticultural Centre)
In a field trial over a 3-year period, berry yield was insensitive to trellis type for most varieties, but the 3 larger trellises tested led to significantly increased Brix levels, improved colour levels on Cardinal, Ruby Seedless and Emperor grapes, and higher berry weights for Cardinal, Waltham Cross and Italia varieties, compared with grapes grown on a single T trellis. It was concluded that of the 3 large trellises, the sloping T trellis was the most suitable and cost-effective.
