Data from resin-in-cage pilot contractors for juice treatment are used to calculate the likely capital and running costs of a unit lowering acid content by 5 g per l or limonin from 15 to 5 mg per l. The cost should be less than 1 cent per l; 3 months' operation per year should repay capital in less than 1 year.
