Trials were conducted during 5 seasons with diazinon and cyromazine in Gippsland, Victoria with sheep receiving early treatment in late September- early October compared to normal November treatment. Early treatment with insecticide reduced the relative numbers of L. cuprina and the prevalence of flystrike. The strategy is being promoted by insecticide manufacturers and advisers in New South Wales.
