Fisher, C.A. (Queensland Dept. of Primary Industries, Indooroopilly (Australia). Land Resources Branch) | Baker, E. (Queensland Dept. of Primary Industries, Indooroopilly (Australia). Agricultural Chemistry Branch)
A soil survey of the Animal Genetics Centre, Warrill View was conducted by Land Resources Branch. The information is used to assess the suitability of the centre's lands for agricultural and pastoral uses. The land suitability information will assist in the siting of animal genetics research project areas, feed production areas and other land uses. Recommendations are made for the management of salinity, erosion, flood-prone areas, irrigation, timbered areas, and the siting of livestock feeding areas and holding yards. Information from this report will be used in the preparation of property plans by the Department's Soil Conservation Services Branch. These plans will ensure that the long-term productivity of the centre's lands is maintained.
