Studies on the germination of Asystasia intrusa seeds [weed of rubber, oil palm and coffee; Malaysia]
1990
Sahid, A.B. | Juraimi, A.S. (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi. Dept. of Botany)
Germination was highest at constant temperature 30 deg. C, and was reduced by moisture stress. The percentage germination was reduced by increasing NaCl concentration. Germination varied only slightly between pH 4 and 7, but decreased rapidly outside those limits. The length of light period was important, but absence of light could be overcome by gibberellic acid treatment. Seedling emergence was at a maximum when seeds were planted at 2 cm depth.
