The nutrient requirements of domestic South American camelidae (llamas and alpacas), were reviewed in the literature. With the information obtained, tables with the requirements for both species, considering the most important nutrients in feed formulation (Crude Protein, Energy as Digestible Energy, Calcium and Phosphorus) were elaborated. The different physiological stages were considered and when not enough information was available, data obtained from small ruminant species was provisionally adapted
