This paper was offered during the 15th Commonwealth Forestry Conference as a contribution to a session which reviewed the wiork of a number of Commonwealth agencies. similar reviews have been presented to Commonwealth Conferences in the past and form a useful record of the involvement of the Secretariat in forestry activities. The 1993 review presented at the 14th Conference in Malaysia, noted the radical revision of the secretariat structure which came into effect on 1 July that year and this paper reviews the activities since that date as the new arrangements have matured.
