Career counselor: Professional answers to career questions
Foxman, Loretta D. | Polsky, Walter L.
Abstract: Personal information should not be included on a resume, as it may arouse prejudice in the reader, and be a strong factor in the hiring decision. A list of data not to be included on the resume includes martial status, age, race, or national origin. When seeking to explore opportunities in more than one field, for example, in personnel or in sales, different resumes are needed. Each should be directed toward a specific objective. Write out a description of each abjective or position in quantitative and concrete terms covering: title, function, field, duties, environment, salary range, career growth potential and number of people you wish to manage. A list of accomplishments should then be tailored to each objective. Specific instructions for editing and presenting the information are given. (emc)Show more [+] Less [-]
