Geography of the Scots pine disease, caused by Lophodermium fungi, was analyzed in Krasnoyarsk krai and Khakassia in 1997–2010. Most of the loci were located in taiga; less frequently they occurred in mountain taiga and mountain chern altitudinal belts. Rarely the disease was noted in forest-steppe zone of subboreal forests. The disease dynamics is cyclic; in recent years the wide extension of the pathogen across the studied region was detected. Needle cast is a serious danger for pine grown from seeds from the other regions, especially seeds of western or southern origin.Show more [+] Less [-]
