This work presents an experimental and modelling study of the evapotranspiration (ET) of an orange orchard, irrigated by drip system. The experimental work consists in controlling the different fluxes (mainly latent heat) exchanged within the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum. The modelling of ET is based on the modified Penman-Monteith equation by introducing a critical resistance (which depends on the climate only) through a linear relationship between this resistance and canopy resistance. The model's performance was evaluated by comparison with the measurement of ET with eddy covariance system during four cropping seasons. The obtained results showed good estimates of ET by the model with less than 10% relative error.
