Pest control serviceman's training program | Rodents
1983
Eight self-instructional programmed workbooks for pest control operators (PCOs) comprise Group 4: Rodents. Book 1 aids in identification and differentiation between the Norway rat and the roof rat. Book 2 covers the nocturnal, climbing, swimming, eating, and nesting habits of rats. Book 3 aids in the recognition of the common house mouse and its habits. Book 4 helps familiarize PCOs with evidence of rodent infestation--droppings, gnawing marks, rub smudges, tracks, holes, burrows, and nests. Book 5 helps PCOs determine the proper rodenticide to employ against mice or rat infestation. Book 6 examines the proper use and application of anticoagulant rodenticides. Book 7 describes the proper methods of baiting, trapping and disposing of traps and captured rodents. Book 8 reviews the previous seven manuals on rodent identification and control strategies. The workbooks have both a pretest and a post test (and answers) that allow the PCO trainee to make accurate self-evaluations. A booklet of worksheets accompanies the rodent training program.
