This publication provides information on the general biology of balsam fir needlecast diseases and the characteristic features of diseased needles. Management recommendations to prevent needlecast disease problems are presented. As an aid to diagnosticians, microscopic characteristics of each of three common needlecast fungi are presented in a table.
