Abstract: Designed as a curriculum guide in adolescent nutrition and weight control, the objective of this kit is to provide teachers, guidance counselors, and school food service managers with necessary tools for student assistance. Divided into four sections, each contains detailed lesson plans, background information, and appropriate handouts for each topic: teen nutrient needs/eating patterns; healthy weight management including discussions of self-image and anorexia nervosa/bulimia; eating/exercise che ck-ups; and personal weight control program development. A positive self-image, wise food choices, and regular exercise comprise the sum total of appropriate weight management skills. Guides for both the school food service manager and teacher are included.
