Abstract: This study examined the effectiveness of television as a medium for conveying basic food and nutrition information to low-income, Spanish speaking homemakers. Results indicated that TV instruction was as effective as the same instruction offered by means of home visits and by means of a combination of TV and home visits. This impact was seen primarily in food-related behaviors. No significant results emerged in food consumption as measured by the 24-Hour Food Recall.
